It is impossible to over emphasize the importance of emoting with the customers. It starts with the landing and your greeting... /me smiles and waves, "So wonderful to see You again David Sir, Please come in and enjoy the show." or "Welcome to Toys Jim, how are you tonight Sir." Greet the customers, invite them in, make them feel welcome. It is a lot harder for a potential customer to walk away if you have engaged them. Even harder if you have convinced them to have a seat. Don't get me wrong, it will happen anyway so don't get discouraged.
Once you have them in a chair, work on them with another greeting as they sit. If you welcomed them as they landed, maybe ask them how they are when they sit or blow them a little thank you kiss for having a seat. Keep it up, emote a move on the pole or the floor always keeping them engaged. Blow kisses to individual customers, wink at them, emote a move across the stage to be in front of them.
You'll soon find someone in IM asking if you do "it", do you escort too, what are your rates. Have your ratecard ready at all times or ask them to click your barcode. Many customers get a real charge out of the thought of the barcode and then having it function as the card giver. This is when a customized ratecard really comes in handy.
The chairs in pervert's row are very useful for keeping people there. No they don't lock them in but a pretty slave dancing in front of you can get your attention if you are a customer. Sometimes these quick trips to the chairs get tips from people. Don't get carried away with the length of the dance, if after a few minutes and no tip, emote your way back to the stage. I say emote it because often the prospect of you leaving will wring a tip out of the customer. Same with any dance in the chair give notice that you are moving away. one of my favourites is, /me pushes back from the chair her fingers trailing over his body...then, give it a moment as you dance .../me twists in front of Jim her fingers teasing over her curves as she turns toward the stage. Make up your own, use your imagination.
The chairs are great for thanking customers for tips, those thank yous very often get a continuation tip or 2 or 3.
Emoting is no more than describing what you are doing. Putting it into the /me format means that it forms an action sentence.../me smiles and blows him a kiss, becomes, Trix smiles and blows him a kiss. Always be sexy, be flirty, tease them.
We've included a notecard with some emotes. Please try to structure your emote to the situation. These are to help you at the beginning, we fully expect that soon you'll be customizing and creating your own.
Here's a video from Torley, it describes the /me plus whispers and shouts.
Voice escorting commands higher rates and there are lots of customers looking for it. You can easily charge twice what our current rates for submissive play are and even more if you are prepared to discipline the boys who come in.
If you haven't investigated the use of voice in SL or haven't yet turned it on see the following video. We recognize that there are as many reasons to avoid voice as there are people at Toys. Not the least of which is family, your partner or your children. Not to even consider the technical demands on your computer. But, even without speaking you can find your experience here enhanced because we have a number of people who speak in chat often. Listening can speed up instruction and make it easier to get things done. If your circumstances don't allow it, we completely understand.
If your concern is with security Linden offers Voice Morphing software as do other companies. You can watch a video on Linden's product and we have included the url to two companies whose software is known to work with Second Life.
